SEGA has announced the global launch of SEGA Football Club Champions 2025, a free-to-play football management simulation game set to release later this year on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC (via Steam), iOS, and Android .
This title marks the international debut of SEGA’s long-running Japanese series, SakaTsuku (short for Pro Soccer Club o Tsukurou!), which has been a staple in Japan since its inception in 1996.
SEGA Football Club Champions 2025 is powered by the renowned Football Manager engine, offering a blend of deep strategic gameplay and accessible mechanics . Players will start by managing a local club, with the goal of ascending to global prominence. The game features two primary modes:
Career Mode: Manage a team, make tactical decisions, and develop club facilities to build the greatest club of all time.
Dream Team Mode: Engage in PvP matches against players worldwide, participating in Event Matches, the Arena, and Room Matches .
The game boasts official licenses for over 10,000 real-life professional players, including 1,500 from Japan’s J1–J3 leagues, athletes from the South Korean K League, and players from FIFPRO and Manchester City FC . Notable football stars such as Erling Haaland, Mateo Kovačić, and Rúben Dias will be available from the outset.
A closed beta test is scheduled from June 19 to June 30, 2025. Interested players can sign up until June 13 through the official website, with 15,000 slots available . The beta will be accessible on PC, iOS, and Android platforms.
